Wal-Mart GE Food Processor Recall: Lacerations and Fires Reported
Dozens of reports of fires, hand injuries and overheating have led to a recall of about 255,000 General Electric food processors sold at Wal-Mart stores.
The Walmart food processor recall was announced on May 25 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which has determined that the safety interlock system on the processors is prone to failure. This can lead to the food processor running without the lid securely in place, which poses a laceration hazard. Additionally, the units can smoke and catch fire.
Walmart reports that it has received 24 reports of the food processors operating without the lid in place, which has resulted in 21 reported fingertip injuries. There have also been 34 reports of the units smoking, with three of those incidents resulting in the food processors bursting into flames.

Change Healthcare Data Breach Impacts Millions of Customers
A massive Change Healthcare data breach exposed the names, social security numbers, medical and personal information of potentially 100 million Americans, which have now been released on the dark web. Lawsuits are being pursued to obtain financial compensation.
Learn MoreThe recall affects GE digital 14-cup food processors. The processors have a model number of 169203, which is located on the underside of the appliances. They are black with stainless steel trim and a clear plastic container.
The affected GE food processors were sold exclusively at Walmart stores and were available through the Walmart.com website from September 2009 through February 2011. They sold for about $50 each.
This is the second major Walmart appliance recall in less than six months due to the risk of fire. In December the store was forced to recall more than 2 million electric heaters after four people were injured and 11 reports of property damage.
The CPSC recommends that consumers immediately stop using the recalled food processors. The appliances should be returned to any Walmart store for a full refund. Consumers with questions can call Walmart customer service at 1-877-207-0923 or visit the company’s website at www.walmartstores.com/recalls.

I even told her to not use the machine very hard and to shut it off and let cool down, She always said she was taking it real slow and nevent r used it very hard. Last night she called me again with a problem so I went on line to look up a manual for the machine to find out it has been recalled since may of 2011 because of laceration and machines catching on fire I was totally blown away ,She had never gotten any type of notice or never seen anything about the machines in any Walmart store that is total insanity that nothing was said or relayed back to her or to any one else for that matter. I just dont understand how profit or reputation is put in front of a person well being there could of been some major consequences to myself or her with no prior knowledge of this recall . We as people can do better then that.Come on Wallmart think of of the consumer for once and stop worrying of the bottom line .

As I was eating a baked apple dessert my wife had made and felt someting hard in the mix. I pulled out a piece of a wedge shape plastic from my mouth about half the size of my pinky nail. On further investigating we found that the piece was from part number 10 (feeding Chute). I called Customer service and talked to Linda, who told me to JUST bring it back and Walmart would give me a NEW ONE . On further investigating we found that the piece was from part number 10 (feeding Chute). I called Customer service and talked to Linda, who told me to JUST bring it back and Walmart would give me a NEW ONE . As we liked this product we wanted another one but but 2 stores did not have the replacement on the shelves. So we went to see if one could be ordered! Well customer service at the store punched in the numbers of the unit and their computer froze. That's how we learned of this recall and a Class Action Lawsuit. Why wasn't I told during the phone conversation ? My wife upset because I could of done damage to my esophagus ,intestinal track or my colon. God Forbid ! Can we blame Walmart for not letting the cat out of the bag or is it GE that had the product made some where else in this world ?
