  Prior to taking Suboxone my teeth were damn near perfect. After years on Suboxone they are a mess, that's what is left of them! I live in Seattle, Washington. Does anyone know of a good solid attorney? One that is reasonably priced so when all is said and done I can afford to get my teeth fixed? Veneers here I come!!!

  I started taking Subutex about 7 years ago, and had only one cavity in my life. Now every tooth is crumbling and falling apart. I didn't have this many problems when I was in full blown addiction. It's extremely heartbreaking. I hear people making comments about my teeth. I even had a dental assistant try to say I don't take care of my teeth.   I am on Belbuca and I am in ongoing treatment with my dentist Also, they haven’t delivered this drug in the Metro Atlanta area in two months. I just need to know why and some advice. My insurance covers the drug, but they have not been able to supply. The number to call is busy 24/7

  Well I had no Idea that suboxne caused tooth pain ontil about a week ago and that's when my mouth started to hurt like a bearing sensation in my mouth I mean it starts in the back and moves up to the front it's been hurtt8ng so bad that it wakes me up in a dead sleep yeah so ik something is wrong with this this medication

Eventually I was put back onto the Subutex version of the Buprenorphine in 2015 through to present day. My present dose is 32mg daily. In total I have taken the medication for approximately 13 years. I have often wondered why my teeth continued to progressively deteriorate dating back to about the time about a year after I first started to take the Buprenorphine medication. I have records of going to the dentists year after year and not knowing why I had so much trouble with my teeth deteriorating, getting crack lines, becoming weak, and eventually breaking or cracking. This was happening to all my teeth and I did not know why. My dentists would ask are you brushing and are you flossing ? And I would say yes. How often ? Daily. I even started to overbrush aggressively thinking I wasn't doing a good enough job. This led to my gums eventually reseeding and the development of a bad brushing technique. My brush bristles always look flat from always thinking I need to brush harder. I have for the most part had dental insurance and made regular visits. But from around 2013 to present day I have had so much dental work done year after year trying to keep up with the teeth that just continued to deteriorate. I became progressively devastated. I was spending out of pocket hundreds to thousands of dollars monthly to yearly and the insurance paying slightly more than my out of pocket. Over the past 10 years I spent $8,000 dollars out of pocket and the insurance paid $7,500. I have all my records from the insurance company. Over $15,000 dollars and it just could not keep up with the deterioration. I know this amount is higher. I only pulled my records from Delta Dental records. I have other bills that did not go through the insurance company. Finally after trying and trying to win a losing battle, I was forced into just a year ago spending out of pocket most of my savings. $25,000 dollars to have all the remaining upper teeth of mine removed completely and an arch put in. I have all the records and receipts. Insurance does not cover this type of full reconstruction. I was just devastated after trying so hard to keep up with it all eventually having to surrender and lose all my natural teeth :( I also need the same done to the bottom. Otherwise I will spend 25k to 30k attempting to do implants and crowns which in the end may not even work. Additionally take forever to even get it all done with the annual insurance benefit. I can not afford another surgery for the bottom teeth so I get by with the nine I have left. I have lost 7 total on the bottom. I have always had the thought, could this be happening due to my medication. I was always told no over and over. I have been so depressed wondering what was happening. Am I getting bad water ? Am I having reflux ? The impact this has had on my self confidence and self esteem is unmeasurable . The impacts to things like dating, social events, public speaking, smiling, laughing, ability to chew food, enjoy food, having to pass on ordering certain foods, I work as a professional in Project Management and I literally get very stressed out when we have to conduct meetings in person. My colleagues would often say "J" you never smile or laugh. Which is absolutely devastating to go through year after year. Only after recently getting, well let's call it what it really is "a prosthetic arch" did I start to gain back any confidence in myself. Esthetically they can really add a very nice appearance, however losing all your natural teeth does carry a mental impact. The arch takes a bit of getting use to as well. In the long run most end up much happier than the situation they had prior to the arch. But it also comes at a huge financial cost. I had to forfeit most of my savings. Which is a hardship in it self. :( And many can not afford to get an arch. The sadness I went through considering going to dentures at an age of mid 50's really brought allot of sadness. I truly hope somehow there is some avenue for recovery for what has already negatively impacted me in so many ways over the past 15 years. I know I am not alone. Many others have struggling or have struggled similarly. I do think my case shows a fairly good accounting of the progressive damage this medication can cause. One thing I try to do now after reading some of the new discovery on this medication, is brush and rinse out my mouth after using the medication.   Started with mouthful of teeth, but after about 5 years of suboxone I have not only had decay but have had to have many extractions. They all just started going bad at once and infection has been an issue also. I need implants and can’t afford them. This has impacted every aspect of my life negatively. I don’t want to leave my house and my business is suffering.

  I been on suboxan film since it first came out in Santa fe nm.. i would drive from Espanola every morning dr regana would give you one hr later another one..ended up taking 3 a day..was never informed about side effects..I lost all my teeth .wearing dentures..can't eat right can't chew right..it's been a real nightmare..not to mention memory loss

When I first started taking this drug I was told this drug wasn't addictive. My teeth were in great condition but now they are decaying at a rapid rate. Just went to the dentist yesterday. No major issues before med, after taking Suboxone for four months I have had four root canals, a tooth, polled, periodontitis, and have spent $10, 000 in the last nine months and ran out of money.   I used Buprenorphine in patch form. Its the medication. I had beautiful teeth until about year 4 of this medication. I was on this medication until 4 months ago. Nobody ever once said rapid tooth decay would be a side effect.

Over the last three years I have had over 20 theeth decayed and fell out. It was most definitely the Subutex that caused it. My dentist has my x-rays showing healthy theeth Three years ago. I have a love hate relationship with suboxone…. yes it saved my life but it also took another part of my life . I have a flipper but to just get 4 front implants will be almost ten grand , I need 8. I am 67 don’t have dental Except through my Aetna but I am on Medicare. 1,300 a yr is not enough to take care of the damage. I need to find out more information asap. Thanks for sharing!!

It was supposed to be just to help me get off pain pills that a doctor that is in jail now for writing to much opiate prescription. I think we should get some kind of help from them and maybe some time in the near future they will do something maybe it won't be too late and I am dead. Let's get together and see what happens.

  I lost all my teeth in 2020 after 16 years of using this crap. Now I'm dying, 3 years suffering without teeth, lost my career, Confidenece, child, unable to eat or chew solid food, lost over 30 lbs and now I have pneumonia. Stay away from this poison, I mean that as a god fearing man, with children and a good heart. Suboxone is worse than Oxycontin.

Not only do I have tooth loss but bone loss in my job so it's hard to fit cuz I don't have much ridge my only real option is to get semi-permanent upper and lower dentures they stay in with magnets I guess but I actually can't afford that so I'm at a loss at this point but I certainly was never told when I started taking this medication about any of the side effects not just tooth loss but all of the other things they either didn't inform people of or minimized like the fact that it's hard to get off of without withdrawal and the withdrawal periods last so long. They might not be as bad as a regular opiate withdrawal but they are still debilitating and they go on for weeks not just three or four really bad days. Is there currently a class action suit for the purposeful lack of notification or deliberate misinformation having to do with tooth loss and any other side effects I certainly want to be a part of that as I was never informed of the one having to do with cost. Someone's got to want to help out dental work is really expensive and this was not of our own doing and I'm very frustrated and disheartened to buy it all

Ever since the extractions and now the dentures, I have been severely depressed and rarely leave the house. The worst part was that I could not attend my fathers funeral in Germany since he passed away before I received my dentures and I was too ashamed to see my family and friends in such a state. I have four lower teeth left but within a few month after I received a deep cleaning, my remaining teeth are now in such bad shape as well that my dentists is not sure if they can be saved or strong enough to hold a partial. I used to be a model and musician, however, since I lost my teeth I also lost any confidence and have not played any concerts since my face feels complete alien to me. Again, I wish the makers of Subutex and Suboxone would have it made clear how drastically their medication affect one’s teeth since I would have chosen a different treatment. I still would not know about these major side effects had I not accidentally read a study from 2022 about it a few hours ago. I am immensely disappointed in the lack of communication about these life altering side effects from the the makers of these drugs since they took everything from me—my confidence, my looks, my self-esteem, and my mental health. I was vibrant, outgoing, and happy person. Now I am just a shell of my former self.

  I filled out the paperwork for the lawsuit. Anyone knows how long it will take? I am up late again due to another infection in my teeth. The constant agony. I can't afford insurance I've had bone loss so dentures aren't working for my top. I only have 7 left on the bottom and I keep infection. I've had antibiotics 4 times in 3 months because of it. The constant agony. I can't afford insurance I've had bone loss so dentures aren't working for my top. I only have 7 left on the bottom and I keep infection.   I've been on suboxone films for 5 years and was not warned. My teeth got so bad about a year in I had all of them taken out. Wish I would of at least been told to take precautions.

  As a dental professional I’m sickened by the effects I’ve seen due to this medication. The manufacturer should take full financial responsibility for these issues. These dental issues caused by this med have only recently been published, well after patients have lost their teeth.

This is not only a travesty for those of us who have legitimate pain but also a conspiracy on the part of the clinics and drug manufacturers to get you onto a drug that's cheaper for them to distribute. All in the name of profit. If you have a class action lawsuit going, I volunteer as your star witness.

I can't afford to pay for implants or anything like this. What's sad is there was never any warning or side effects saying causes tooth decay. It's taken over my life.   I have been using suboxone since 2008. Toothache here and there and I hate 2 root canals didn’t think anything of it. But when my teeth started to break and researched it and said suboxone was the main cause of tooth decay. Going to see a dentist but I know I can’t afford $20,000 of dental work neither. I’m lost. I want my smile instead of avoid or covering my mouth.

Now I have over $10,000 in dental work including extractions, root canals, crowns, and fillings due to decay starting at my gum line.   Have been on suboxone since 2007. Prior to starting suboxone I never even had cavities. In 2018 I had to spend over 30,000$ for dental implants because I was not a candidate for regular dentures. I was never told suboxone did this kind of damage! God only knows what it's doing to our bones. I think suboxone makers should pay me back for all my dental treatment plus years of suffering!

  My mother took belbuca for 10 months and now has had to have numerous teeth pulled and replaced by implants, in addition to gum infections, and oral including tongue infections. This has cost over $50,000 in damages to repair. She was not counseled to swish water or wait an hour after taking to brush teeth. By neither her physician nor the pharmacist. Well since taking suboxone my weight is a lunch higher #, I have no good teeth and very few that can actually do something, my children miss out on a lot and I am embarrassed to go anywhere. In the beginning, when my first few molars began crumbling, I was told it’s not related. There were ZERO articles linking the tooth decay(actually denying it). Same for weight. I am 37 and have been embarrassed for 4 years! It’s ruined my life and body. I can’t for the life of me understand why no one will take this case. To this day articles from the fda etc say “some”. From my experience it’s more like 3/4 have issues(so should say “most”). I couldn’t even imagine the # of people who would sign up. I missed the first class action bc in my opinion it was suppressed. I’m online often and didn’t see it once. I was spending $400 a month early on. I’d love to hear from others ❤️

I had some dental issues before, but after starting on Belbuca my teeth began to rot out of my head no matter how much $ I spent trying to save my teeth. I now have full dentures at only 41yo because all I had left were shattered and broken fragments of what used to be my teeth. It's embarrassing and cost me over 12k in total...

Quickly realizing that kicking a heavy narcotic cold turkey was nearly impossible, she was sent to a Dr. with an XDEA and the ability to prescribe the cure all “Suboxone”. Little did we know Suboxone wasn’t going to be the magic pill we all thought it would be. She went from being addicted to OxyContin to being dependent on Suboxone. On top of being dependent on Suboxone, she lost her front tooth while on vacation in Florida. Since this happening, I have watched her teeth fall apart one-by-one, I have watched her confidence dwindle away slowly as her smile became smaller and smaller. My heart breaks as she can only eat certain foods and has to stay away from others. A new mouth you say? To get a brand spanking new set of teeth will set her and my father back thousands and thousands. She has been Suboxone free for 12+ years. How’d she do it? She weened herself off of the drug little by little until she was eventually at an 8th of the film and even then the whole family had to watch her kick the sheets for almost a week once she dropped it. Suboxone has taken away so many things from my mother, but it also has taken away so much from our family. She will never get back the smiles lost and the opportunities she missed out on secondary to watching her mouth fall apart. Please please tell your story so we can gain recognition and are able to hold the makers of Suboxone responsible for their lack of transparency about its awful side effects. These people need new teeth!! My mother didn’t ask for any of this.

I've had multiple root canals recently, a tooth just pulled, another tooth just crumbled apart so i have 1/2 a tooth there and the rest are so sensitive and I can see cavities that need to be filled. I've had to go thru so much pain during some of my visits, I need to go more and I'm just so damn scared!!!

I have lost all my back molars on the left upper side and now I am experiencing issues with the front eye tooth. I have always taken care of my teeth and now I can’t afford to replace these.

Literally. I was told I have prettty much no enamel on my teeth….. Both of us have lost almost all of our teeth completely. I am having the last four teeth removed from my uppers on 4/22/22, as they are beyond repair. I have four teeth remaining on my lowers, and they are also beyond repair. my husband has six teeth remaining on the top, all of which are broken, decayed, or infected. He has 5 teeth remaining on the bottom. we both have had to go to the dental school to obtain dental services, and you can all but imagine the torture we have had to endure. Unfortunately this is the only dental care that is even remotely affordable. Our treatment options are limited to extractions without sedation and temporary dentures of the poorest quality that are made by dental students. We didn’t choose opioid addiction, and we trusted our doctors when we were told “This drug is safe”; referring to both the opioids as well as the Suboxone. We regained our lives past opioid addiction maintaining healthy lifestyles, enjoying our children and advancing in our careers. People often refer to us as “the happiest couple they’ve ever known”; I would say “the happiest people who never smile”. Both my husband and I have had to leave our professional careers because of our Oral appearance. We are always encouraging our 4 teenage daughters to be confident in who they are, and to not let other people’s judgment or opinions of them alter their path or steal their confidence. We really are great parents , but the hypocrisy in teaching them the exact opposite of what we practice keeps us up at night. I’m determined to take back our dignity, and show our daughters how to advocate for themselves, fight for what’s right, and expose what is wrong!! The Drug comp should absolutely and unquestionably start to take responsibility and offer quality dental treatment options to the patients affected by Suboxone and Dental Nightmares. I’ve started using my own voice about it and it keeps getting louder. It’s not just our teeth that’s missing, .....it’s our lives.

  I been on suboxone for almost 3 years now and yes it has saved my life but also now my teeth are all crumbling and breaking. Its horrible my teeth hurt all the time because of them being so weak.

Before anyone blames previous drug use on the reason my teeth had issues that is not the case. I had surgery which caused complications and was put on a very high mg of pain meds by my Dr. I did not abuse my medication, I took them as my Dr said and was on them over a year. Once they found the source of the issue my body had physically become dependant and the withdrawals were pure hell but I never moved to street or IV drugs so no that isn't the reason my teeth started breaking off. The first broken tooth happened in 2020 which was over a year after suboxone was prescribed to me. I dont mean to sound defensive but being called a crackhead and junkie over your teeth sucks and is demoralizing and has changed me from the happy confident woman I used to be to a shell of the woman I once was. There are options out there besides suboxone that dont have this side effect that could of been taken but due to suboxone manufacturers not disclosing this I didnt know it was something I needed to worry about. Now it's too late I will be in dentures soon hopefully and hopefully will find the confidence that I once had.

I was on drugs for many years, and my teeth only started rapidly decaying after trying to get better on Suboxone. I still have my bottom teeth.   I took 1 1/2 doses of buprenorphine in 2020 when my body was attacked by COVID. NEVER was I told it would destroy my teeth. It tasted terrible and made me feel weird. I refused to take anymore.

  I have been on this medication for several years and TONS of issues with my teeth all the way from having multiple filling to even having teeth pulled! funny thing is before this medicine I never had any issues with my teeth they were much whiter no cavities and a year after being on bupernorphine BAM dentist visit problem after problem!

  Soboxone saved my life when I started it in 2014 and have been on it off and on for years now. Consecutively for the last 5 years. With that being said my teeth are in absolute terrible condition now.

  Was using suboxone for over 10yrs and was never told about tooth decay issue due to the meds. I now have the worst teeth ever most of them gone and can’t afford to get new teeth unless I get dentures. I have never been notified of any lawsuits in the past. I need help because it’s not fair I was never told of these consequences of this med or any alternatives so it didn’t happen.
