Kraft Velveeta Skillet Meal Recall Issued for Cheeseburger Mac Products

Roughly 1.7 million pounds of microwavable Kraft Velveeta Skillet cheeseburger macaroni and cheese meal products have been recalled due to a failure to indicate that they contain soy, which could pose a serious risk of health problems for consumers with soy allergies.

The Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles recall was announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on January 19, after problems with the packaging labels was discovered during a routine quality check conducted by the manufacturer.

The labels on the Kraft Velveeta Cheeseburger Mac products do not disclose that hydrolyzed soy protein and dried soy sauce are contained in the meals. The manufacturer believes that the label supplier inadvertently mixed labels with the incorrect ingredients.
