Kirkland Severe Cold & Flu Medicine Sold at Costco Recalled Over Contamination Risks

A recall has been issued for Kirkland Signature brand Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion medication sold at Costco, due to a risk that the drug may contain a foreign material, which could potentially expose users to adverse health consequences.

The manufacturer, LNK International, Inc., announced the Kirkland severe cold and flu medicine recall on January 2, following the accidental release and shipment of a specific lot that had been rejected due to concerns over potential contamination.

While no specific risks have been identified in connection with the contaminated products, the manufacturer initiated the recall “out of an abundance of caution.”

The recall includes both daytime and nighttime Kirkland brand Cool Blast Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion capsules, which were packaged together in boxes containing item number 1729556.

LNK International indicates the over the counter medication was sold at Costco stores in the Midwest and Southeast regions between October 30, 2024, and November 30, 2024. They can be identified by Lot Code P140082, which is printed on the box.

Costco warns against using any remaining product marked with the affected lot code, and advises consumers to return the item to your local Costco for a full refund.

Customers with questions may contact LNK International Inc. at 1-800-426-9391 or email the company at complaints-inquiries@lnkint.com.
