Toddler Bed and Crib Mattress Recall Issued Due to Failure to Meet Federal Flammability Standards

More than 23,000 “Dream On Me” brand crib and toddler mattresses have been recalled, because they do not meet mandatory federal flammability standards and may pose serious risks for children in the event of a fire. 

The toddler bed and crib mattress recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on December 12, after it was discovered that the products fail to comply with mandatory federal flammability standards. To date, no fire incidents or injuries have been reported.

Included in the recall are “Dream On Me” spring and foam mattresses for cribs and toddler beds that were sold in a variety of colors and brand lines including Évolur Sleep Ultra Crib and Toddler Bed Mattress, Évolur Sleep Deluxe Crib and Toddler Bed Mattress, Sweet Dreams 6” 88 Coil Spring Crib and Toddler Bed Mattress in Blue, 88 Coil Inner Spring Standard Crib & Toddler Mattress, Visco Pedic Innerspring Standard Mattress in Blue star, Convoluted Orthopedic Inner Spring Standard Crib & Toddler Mattress, Firm Foam Crib and Toddler bed mattress, 5″ Foam Crib & Toddler Bed Quilted Standard Mattress, 5” Round Foam Crib Mattress, 5″ Thick Round Crib Mattress.

The recalled mattresses have the model number and date of manufacture printed on a tag on the top center of the mattress. For a full list of the recalled mattresses please visit the official CPSC recall notice.

The toddler bed and crib mattresses were made in the United States under “Dream On Me”, of Piscataway, New Jersey. They were distributed for sale through Amazon.com, Kohls.com, ToysRUs.com, Walmart.com, and Wayfair.com from January 2016 through December 2016 for between $40 and $90.

The manufacturer is asking customers to stop using the recalled mattresses immediately and to contact them at 877-201-4317 or visit them online at www.dreamonme.com and navigate to the “Customer Care” tab for information on how to receive a free mattress cover to bring the mattress into compliance with the federal flammability standard.
