When I was 13-16 I was prescribed Seroquel and I would have seizures all the time. My mom took me to get mini CAT scans and MRIs just recently. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and they asked me if I was exposed to any radiation well yeah when I was younger, I didn’t know why I was having seizures, and now I have thyroid cancer and I’m only 34 with 2 kids.

My mom committed suicide. She took 80 seroquel

When they started me on this drug when I was 12 I was drugged over I gained 100 lbs the first ur I was on it and still have not lost all the weight Seroquel causede too gain I also developed facial hair and chest hair two places it should not be on a female I have diabetes because of getting so heavy from this drug all it dose isake u a zombie make u over sleep and eat even while you are sleeping this was by far the worst drug they had ever put me on and I still suffer the consequences from taking this drug from age 12 too 16 will I ever get reimbursed for the mental and physical anguish I had too and still have too go through my opinion no children should be placed on drugs like this they don’t even know what these do too adults let alone children

Seroquel was a nightmare for me. It was prescribed by my doctor for sleep problems. It did help with sleep; however, it ended up causing a number of serious health problems. For one, I started feeling sick all the time. Then I got blood clots from my groin to the bottom of my calf. I also started having blood sugar issues and gained about forty pounds. And this happened despite working out strenuously 5-6 days a week and eating right. Once I tapered off of Seroquel, I lost the ability to sleep. I went two years with very little sleep. Most nights I didn’t sleep at all. I have been off of the medication for nearly four years now, but I still have trouble sleeping, I am on a blood thinner for life, and I continue to struggle with my blood sugar.

My husband was involved in a Seroquel in 2011 and when the settlement was paid, he was incarcerated and the check was returned by his aunt when it came to her address. Is there any way to find out which firm handled his lawsuit? Any assistance or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Seroquel is very bad drug

I developed diabetes, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea, along with gaining about 50 pounds while on 200-400 mg daily. Awful drug. Took it for bipolar.

I and many friends have taken them. I don’t suggest long term use age of the drug. It simply requires your brain in a crappy way!!! If you have been awake for longer than usual it’s great to take, because no matter how “awake” you are take 300 milligrams and w in 7 minutes it’s WhoootWhoot and you are on that train to Quillville!!! I don’t sleep much, 4-5 hrs a day and I’m gravy. When I take Cyroquill it just puts me in a deeper sleep for those 4-5 hrs. I have a hell of a tolerance to basically any drug really. I have seen it pretty much sedate friends of mine for up to 12 hrs at least. Point is I guess is to take it at your own risk. Everybody’s tolerance, genes, etc. are different. So start off w 25milligrams and go from there.

I been talking taking Serqueal since 2007 for depression I was taking 800mg all I do was eat sleep gain alot of wait tried to get off but soon as I miss a dose are forget to go get my prescription I can’t sleep eat I throw up sweat and feel bad I don’t want to be on this medication the rest of my life now I’m taking 150mg but like the other dosage I was taking the same thing I just want to live a normal life and stop taking this medication cause all it’s doing is destroying my life of lease can u tell me what tondo

I have been taking quetiapine for over 2 years but I have notice I am having difficulties with remembering alot of things especially appointments and dates and events I’ve recently done in the past week. I also have been assigned a case care coordinator to assist me with phone calls the day before all my appointments and to be present in my medical appointments to take notes for me since my memory is this bad do I have a potential law suit for this major side effect I’m only 48 years old taking 50 mg sometimes only 25 mg please inform me of my rights as a patient and disabled person and my present potential financial compensation if any. I am literally currently on 600mgs of seoquerl And I Almost committed suicide I took a straight razor to my left arm four deeply slices they gave the surgeon 45 minutes to get to the hospital which he got there in ten minutes I Am my 84 year old mother and living father 19 child but living sibling I am diagnosed with paranoid, schizophrenia, and PTSD, and homicidal and suicidal tendencies and personality disorder ever since my brother girlfriend killed him it totally messed me up and I just wanted to be with them every since I knew to understand, I’ve always been crucified by the remainder of my family until this day please take my case I should be compensated. I just wanna run away and live the remainder of my life, me and my grandchildren and my only son, who also has been crucified, my only grandson has divert disorder. I’m on seriquel. And I have been for yrs now. I have gained over 50 lbs, I have tardyve diskenesia, and had pancreatitis in 2010. This drug is awful but I take for bipolar.

I am fighting for my son’s life right now!!! He was prescribed Seroquel several years ago for PTSD by the VA. H was always thin until he started taking it. He never took meds for pain either. But he came home from Iraq with 5 bulging discs. They denied his request for Laser surgery repair, and instead prescribed Hydrocodone and Tramadol. Within a few years he became so sedated, he had no life. He was only 23 years old. He developed type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and neuropathy. He voided once a day and moved his bowels once a week. He lost all sexual interest and interest in things he loved. He became a zombie. Even after all these things started happening, the VA doctors just kept piling on more medications to cover up what Seroquel was causing, and to keep him quiet. That’s my opinion. There is a long story, but he went through a very scary time about 8-9 months ago, where his whole body just seized up. Every muscle in continuous contraction. He took himself off all the meds because they would do anything about his issues. He lost just over 100 pounds rapidly (in about 4 months), but is left with so many medical/psychological issues. I spoke to a lawyer and he told me the statute of limitations has run out, and my son has no rights. He is now 38, and suffers terribly every day, 24/7. I am angry, and need help!!!!

I started taking Seroquel at 7, only diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I’ve been so dependent on Seroquel for over a decade, I’ve been taking the drug before this article was even written. Seroquel cause me to have hypersensitivity to my nerve endings. I stop taking Seroquel this year, yet the symptoms never went away. The psychiatrist thinks it’s just withdrawals but weening off never worked for me. I scratch till I bleed and my head hurts so much, I take Benadryl to subdue the pain but it’s still mild. I just want someone to help.

My father, January first 2021 took his life. He was prescribed anti-psychotics to help him transition during a stressful time in his life. Why? This man at 65 had never taken a Tylenol in the 36 years he was my dad. Seems overkill to be taking an anti-psychotic for depression/anxiety. Our family has been devastated and won’t ever be the same.

I have been taking Seroquel 300 for the last 3 to 4 years. For the last year I’ve been walking funny and I attributed to his to and tardive dyskinesia I don’t think I’m pronouncing that correctly I’ve also had a lot of weight gain. I am 30 years old! Ever since I’ve been on Seroquel I’ve been having very bad bladder problems to where I have to wear a bladder pad at all times or if I cough I’ll pee or if I check on something up here or if I just lay down and go to sleep I’ll pee and I was taking this one medication , called mirabegron it was working but my freaking insurance won’t pay for it! Does anyone have advice where I can buy this from? It can’t my life for three weeks , the doctor gave me three samples and I need to change my life I don’t see her again until next week though so I’m going to try to get more samples from her

I have been on Seroquel for years I never looked at the side affects until today and it causes diabetes and guess what?? I am a type two diabetic! I am so angry! What can I do about this?? I was put on this medication for insomnia I do not have schizophrenia! How can I start a law suit?? Because i’m going for it!!!!

I was recently hospitalized for severe anxiety, agitation and suicidality. I was given 200 mg of seroquel for an off label use of anxiety. There was no attempt to try alternative anti-anxiety meds. There was another issue of mis-diagnosis despite thorough psych testing that showed depression and anxiety. I was told I would need to take it for life. I have now weaned myself down to 6mg and will be off it next week. The resulting sleep disturbances and heart palpitations from the extreme sedation effects being gone will take me weeks to overcome. This is a nasty mind numbing drug with severe side effects when taken long term. Regardless of all of the lawsuits the psychiatrists both inpatient and outpatient continue to hand out seroquel like M+M’s. I’ve seen many people being prescribed this for off label uses for sleep, anxiety, unipolar depression (which is what I have) PTSD and borderline personality disorder. One need only google seroquel withdrawal to find multiple occasions of people prescribed this for off label conditions. It would appear it is still being marketed to physicians + psychiatrists for many unapproved conditions. Never start this drug unless you’re schizophrenic or in bi-polar mania which is the only two things they are approved for.

I have taken it on and off for all most 15 years and most of the time it was 400 mg and I have gain weight and even tried to kill my self on then my over dosing on then a lot of Times just so I could go to sleep and on the borderline to be a diabetic and but the only thing I like about it is I sleep with it it when nothing else help mom took it and she is a diabetic can’t walk in a wheelchair now and have a hard time seeing and it is eating her from the in side out and she has even tried to kill her self be for but can remember how long that’s been when she was on it and gain a lot of weight

Well for louanda I did look it up and a child under 10 should not be taking saroquel here is the quote. Can a 5 year old take Seroquel? Quetiapine is not approved for use by anyone younger than 10 years old. It is extremely bad because it can cause the brain to malfunction so if the 5 year old got a terminal brain tumor after taking this medication then yes it is very possible I am not a specialist actually this could all be false but I would advise you to do some research and talk to your doctor for other medications because there are always other options next time look up the medication before you have your child take it because I am taking this medication myself and I have been experiencing a lot of the side effects please be careful.

My wife has been taking Seroquel for a year now. Extremely weight gain. I’ve never seen somebody gain so much weight so fast. Anger as if she were drunk on liquor. She is not like this until she takes what has been prescribed as “my sleeping pill” she says! I’m concerned about long term effects like diabetes but, my major concern is that Sunday evening she was walking in the yard, myself watching from inside saw her take 5 steps sideways and then tumble extremely hard to the ground. Now she is unable to do anything because of her pain. The dr. Did an ex ray and sure enough she has a broken rib. Also we have to worry about going into the cold months that she might catch pnmonia. We have 3 children and both of us work but right now I am trying to figure out how to support us both while taking care of everything. I’ve told her to stop taking the meds but she needs them to sleep. I don’t want her to lay there suffering in pain all night. After reading what this drug is I am madder than a hatter because this should not be used as a sleeping aid. This is for skitz and she ain’t skitz. I’ll be calling around looking for information and a lawyer. No way we should have to suffer and my wife be in pain from a pill we though was a simple sleeping med. this crap is like a 5th of liquor. I do not recommend driving on this junk.

I had severe ptsd anxiety and major depression after I left my ex. He beat me for 16 years. I went to a psychiatrist for help dealing with everything. Well not only was I on seroquel and seroquel er I was on alot of others. It took a little over 2 years to get diagnosed with tardive dyskanesia parkinsonism and a seizure disorder. My gi stopped working for a few months. Had I not taken myself off of all the meds I’d be dead. I can’t stress enough to be careful with antiphycotics.

I was in foster from the age of 12 to 18, in 2007 I was placed in middle creek female secure in Latrobe pa. I was having a “hard time adjusting” so they put me on seroquel. Then the woman who raised me got sick and passed away from cancer right after Christmas. After this happened they upped my dosage of seroquel to an amount that when I walked into court on April 2nd 2008 the Judge sent me home and was yelling at the director of the program. I was only on it for about 6 months but in that facility I couldn’t eat right, I was always sleeping, I couldn’t get up to shower or do school work and still to this day I have problems saying what I mean or talking to certain people makes me shut down. I never had that issue before I took seroquel its like it stole a peice of my mind from me. Still to this day ill have moments where I know I’m not myself and ill say that’s the seroquel again. I was almost on 1000 milligrams per day at the age of 15. While I was a ward of the state. Being in states care was already hard for me then they drugged me daily.

My husband is taking Serequil and has really, really, really high blood pressure, the start of diabetes, muscle spasms all night, weight gain, problems urinating, it all started when he started taking this devils drug called Serequil. I can’t believe that they are even allowed to prescrib this evil medicine. Why has his Cardiologist let me continue to take this when his blood pressure is 180/109 his heart rate at 107? None of his doctors have even mentioned this could be the reason for 90% of his health problems. Doctors need to pay attention to what is going on with their patients. I’m not a doctor but I am smart enough to know that almost all of these problems he is having is caused by this devils drug Serequil. It needs to be taken off the marker. People need to start suing these evil Pharmaceutical companies.

I’ve been on it for at least 15 years and no matter what diet or exercise plan I do, I can not get that extra 80lbs I gained in 3 months off me. I can’t stay awake. Its turned me into having narcolepsy. Even if I’m in an important company meeting. I will fall asleep right next to the boss. So I stand all day and even then I will start to fall asleep. Even if I slept over 8 hours. It’s a cruel cruel medicine. I wish I was never put on it. I SHOULD have been WARNED that I would be suffering from severe weight gain and fighting sleep literally all day. EVERYDAY. I also have to deprive myself of food to stay even remotely aware that I’m falling asleep. ANY food in my system causes me to fall asleep but even when I don’t eat at all while my medicine is in effect. I still fall asleep. The is medine should have never been invented. It has lead to constant frustration and misery. At One point I did have an onset of diabetes and I should have probably died. But GOD intervened. I could cry every day based on what’s it done to me that I apparently can never get back. I just want to make people aware of the emotional damage this medicine has caused and still continues to cause. PRAY ALWAYS

I started taking seroquel/quintapine in 2006 at 800mg. For my ptsd, manic depression/suicidal tendencies. I was told it was a non—addictive medicine. The Dr’s refused to put me on a simple anxiety medicine Xanax. 1 pill 3x a day like my previous Dr.They said it was addictive. Well, I had issues with my insurance n couldn’t get my meds the cost was just ridiculously high I think it was over 800$ back in the early 2000s fFor a week I fought to sleep and never did until I got the pills back. I was very upset. I had my Dr prescribe me my pills in 100 mg pills I dosed myself down n told my therapy place an ear full- along with the pill came weight gain so my Dr put me on a diabetic med called METFORMIN to help with the weight gain with absolutely no weight loss but was kept on it for years I even went to diet Dr not even that med would decrease my weight. Bout 10 or so years into it my medical Dr then tells me I have sugar problems- my feet stay numb from my toes fl to about mid foot. My eyesight is almost gone from 20/20 vision that is only a matter of time I’m sure. I refuse to take Western Medicine. I wil not see a physician. My lil mind believes they get kick backs for prescribing all these addictive medications. I mean 1 pill always leads to 3 or 4 (or more)different pills when I can smoke a couple drags off natural green herb feel better than those non addictive pills would. Also I know there will always be pill shoppers out there but when you tell you’re Dr what has helped best in the past yet they refuse absolutely refuse to give what helps you best. And they did eventually did give me 15 Xanax when my husband got cancer and was dying. They told me to pick my battles I couldn’t even have 1 a day. The government regulated them so tightly no Dr wanted to help the true paitient as so they covered their own DERIAIRE. Same with BIG PHARM =BIG MONEY. Can someone please tell me where our REALITY has gone. Now I take nothing except the GOOD LORDS GREEN AND HAVE LOST MY WEIGHT HOWEVER ITS A CYCLE I FIGHT PAINFULY. Sure I’d love to relax totally if they’d only give me what I know works for me. My blood pressure is sky high tonite it was 157/127 pulse 104. People think I’m on drugs. I’ve been on Seroquel for about 4 years. I used to be addicted to Ambien and at the height of my addiction I was taking 10 per night. 10 mg. We tried so many different pills to help with my insomnia that when Seroquel worked it felt like I had found my miracle drug. At first I was on 100 mg now I am up to 300 mg every night. After reading all of these comments I can’t understand why a doctor would prescribe these pills at such high doses and that people get in a car or think they can operate during the day on this medication. It causes extreme drowsiness. I have gained about 30 lbs. No diabetes. But I am also trying to only take 150 mg at night, 300 mg makes my heart race and I hate how that makes me feel. So I am going to try and slowly get off of it as I don’t want to develop some of these symptoms I am reading about. And I want to get this extra weight off.

I am 30 and have been bipolar for 10 years. Seroquel saved my life. I only eat food that I cook and don’t eat simple carbs. I have not gained weight in a year. I also exercise. For those whose mental illness is devastating, the side effects are worth it. Be well and do not forget how destructive mania and depression cycles can be.

I was perscribed 200mg this medication serequel for 3 years, i never felt tired, but that was the silence but deadly part, on to about a couple months i didnt notice anything, but there was stuff going on, (ill get on to this later as it may seem confusing reading this,) first off because of these soul killers i gained social anxiety, increased bodyfat, higher sweat concentrates. I am a fit guy, i lift and run competitively and i can only tell you that this medication does effect your physical performance mentally and physically even at low dose, those brainwashed puppetchiaritrists will tell you that is just sedation, that is the least threatening of the symptoms, this drug damaged my thyroid completely which explains how much i sweat even for being pretty fit. the thyroid also explains the social anxiety was caused by the brain tissues being damaged and rewiring itself from this drug. This soul killer has damaged by body’s ability to metabolize fat, and the scariest part of all this is, i don’t even know if this is permanent. Research is unclear and the research behind this drug is significantly little and inconclusive, puppetchiatrist will tell you it is safe, and a 2nd generation drug. That is what they all say, these soul killers ruin more lives than help, and the worst part is these drug industrys are getting there moneys worth while commiting mass fraud. Puppetchiatrists are just there puppets brainwashed into a subcategory field that is based on inconclusive research yet again and again. I can guarantee you 100 years from now, physchiatry will either be banned or have controlled much of the population by genetic wiring destroying future generation using these so called “cures” such as serequel and others as a “it will help your anxiety” only to help them temporarily but end up damaging them longterm. Bottum line: These drugs are not really proven safe regardless of the inconclusive research they have yet to offer, they do more harm than good. Stay away from them, they should only be used as temporarily treatment for emergency use, otherwise were not developed in society to perscribe “safe” antiphychotics.

I have been taking it for 14 years. Its has caused hypoglycemia and extreme weight gain. I’m still fighting and terribly miserable from these permanent side effects. I wish I never took them, every day of my life.

I was on Seroquel along with many other meds for years. I gained 100+ lbs, lost hair, lost most of my teeth, was diagnosed with parkinson’s, restless leg syndrome, had gall bladder surgery, a cyst of my liver removed, now i have horrible stomach issues, a third hernia resulting from surgeries, i was suicidal, depressed all the time, i lost my family as well. I dont know what drug did what, but i lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because of mania. I was in constant physical pain as well. My health was dwindling. I have since been off all medication for 1 year and my life has changed 360 degrees for the better. These drugs are bad and need to be destroyed. The risks are not worth it. Companies need to be held accountable.

I was put on 900mg of Seroquil every night and I was waking up in the middle of the night completely thirsty and afraid to get out of bed with the fear of falling because the Seroquil made my brain twist around in my head and my body felt so weak I couldn’t even speak when I did finally get enough strength to get out of bed. I’ll be honest I’ve had no positive side effects of my Lithium/Seroquil combo since I’ve been out of the Psychiatric inpatient. My mood has not been stabilized, at all, in fact I’ve been so more depressed now then ever in my life. I’ve quit the lithium because it was not helping and for the Seroquil, 900mg per bedtime for a 100lb girl was way over the limit, so I split a 300mg in half at bed time, 150mg, seems even to much still because I’m sleeping in way to late, and with that said, even makes me feel more depressed, because I feel like I’ve wasted my whole day sleeping, when I know if I wasn’t even taking the Seroquil, I’d be able to wake up earlier in the morning. I’m discontinuing all these psych med’s due to all these dibilitating side effects.

I took quetiapine for 2 weeks. 100mg/day for explosive anger disorder and bi-polar symptoms. My body ached and was spastic, I was lethargic, and disoriented, my anxiety was through the roof and ended up beating up my now ex-fiancé in a 2hr tirade that I don’t remember! NO! I’m not bragging!!!. This was supposed to prevent this behavior!!!! Since then, I’ve had 4 meltdowns that landed me in suicide watch and multiple fights! My body keeps cramping and I’m losing time (memory gaps). I feel helpless to this drug! WTF??? HELP!!!

Bad stuff – on it over a decade and dr agreed i could stop and go to another drug. Stopping it suddenly seems to have given me severe permanent tinnitus. I quit my engineering job of 180k It also reacted with my z pac antibiotic and nearly gave me heart attack. on bp med for nearly year before all returned to normal. I am scared to get off. I was relalliated at by individuals that got me on the med. Now away from the situation and lithium ruined my kidneys and seroquel gave me life long tinnitus and ruined my career – people who invent snd prescibe have no idea the unrelenting suffering this stuff causes

Mom was taken to ER CHOMP, Monterey CA 93940. Her legs were flaring up and shortness of breath. Diagnose with problem with heart, lungs, and kidney. She was given all kinds of medicine. Morning and in the afternoon. Admitted June 1, 2018 her activities are eat and sleep. Mi and my brothers pulls watches Morning noon and night. From June 1-12 all nurses and assistance we’re watching her without any problems even though she talk to herself asking for her mom and sisters. All nurses did no mind about what she was muttering about. June 13, 2018 everything changes when the night nurse started started to notice about my mom mutterings and diagnosed her to have anxiety and agitated. So he called the night doctor and the nurse and doctor made their decisions that she needed to put her to sleep. That night the night doctor prescribed her Seroquel. The night nurse gave it to her. The night nurse wad yelling at her and not giving her blankets After taking Seroquel she became distorted, groggy, fatigue, vrimaci g, tongue protrusion lip smacking, puckering and pursing of lips and rapid eye blinking Diabetes, shortness of breath gain weight high blood pressure, anxiety, and not responsive and alert.

I believe seroquel which I’ve been on for over 9 yrs has caused me to have diabetes. that so far has caused me erectile disfunction and to expect other severe complications . For over 15 yrs I’ve taking seroquel off and on as prescribed by a multiple of doctors for anxiety and for the last nine yrs I’ve taken it on a daily basis. Nine yrs ago the erectile disfunction came on me and i have not been able to have an erection since. I was told it was caused by my diabetes and there is no treatment for it. this was confirmed by an entercromolagest, a urologist , and many other MD’s. I wasn’t told till my current psychiatrist whom I’ve been seeing for only 2 mo. that told me that seroquel can cause diabetes. Maybe if I had been told this long ago the ED and me being insulin dependence may have been avoided. This has caused me great pain in relationships and are now non existent. please can you help ?

I took for approximately for a year 10 years ago, during sleep I was told that my body twitched and jerked, of course I was not aware, although I had severe soreness. I then started an embarrassing movement in my chest. It’s not gone away. Now there is commercials warning of uncontrolled body movement. It’s awful, embarrassing and ” talked about”

at one time i was taking 12,000 milgrams a day i was takeing seroquel rx and at night i was taking 600 milagams at night some ons stoll my pills did not have them for to weeks ended in the hospital becase in did not have them abd i found out my kidnese shut down went to the hospital and they said i would of die if i waited so when i got out i had to ween myself off of them and now i have to go back to the doctor because i have kidney problems

I gained a lot of weight on Seroquel, I lost over half my hair, ,y memory is horrible. I told my psychiatrist about the Seroquel and she took me off of it and my hair stopped coming out. About 6 months later or so my hair started falling out again, come to find out my psychiatrist had put me on the generic of Seroquel. My blood sugar was staying at 300- 547 the whole time I was on Seroquel. It was awful.
